Thomas W. Ford

Michael J. Shalonis Funeral Home - Owner/Funeral Director

Thomas W. (Tom) Ford, 45, of Marysville, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, November 14th, 2024.  Born Thursday, September 20, 1979, in Huntingdon, PA. He was the son of Joel and Linda Ford of Three Springs, PA. He is pre-deceased by his grandparents Earl and Inez Ford, William (Bill Thomas); great-grandparents Kathryn and Edward Cutshall, L. Paul Fleck & Estella Fleck.

He will be deeply missed by his devoted wife, Jennifer Ford; a sister Lindsay (Cyntelle) Northern, a brother, Jeff (Brenda) Ford, and three nephews Ethan Ford, Thomas Canfield and Dylan Canfield. Tom is survived by two loving children, a daughter, Lillie Ford, and a son Alex Ford. Words cannot begin to describe the amount of love and pride that he had for his children. They were the light of his life and his greatest motivating force.

Those that knew Tom, knew that he was one of tremendous generosity. He would give you the shirt off his back, and three from his closet for good measure. He was thoughtful, kind and will be deeply missed by his extended family, in-laws, friends, and families he has served throughout the years.

Tom graduated from Southern Huntingdon High School in 1998. He attended Penn State Altoona and received his associates degree. He continued his education and graduated magna cum laude from Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science in 2002. After passing the State and National Boards, he spent the following 21 years working as a licensed funeral director and serving as a supervisor for funeral homes in Lancaster, Lebanon, and Dauphin counties. In 2023, Tom achieved his lifelong dream of owning his own funeral home by purchasing the Michael J. Shalonis Funeral Home in Marysville, PA.

Tom was an active member in several organizations, including the Perry Lodge #458 in Marysville, PA, the Marysville Sportsmen’s Association and the Pennsylvania Funeral Directors Association. He had a love for the New York Yankees and was beyond thrilled they made it to the World Series this year. He greatly enjoyed fishing, being outdoors, and the annual Ford Fourth of July festivities at his childhood home in Three Springs, PA. He was a mafia and organized crime aficionado and collector.

A public Funeral will be held Saturday, November 23rd, 2024 at noon at Enola Church of God, 9 Sherwood Drive, Enola, PA 17025. A time of visitation will be held from 10am until the time of the service. Interment will be at Perry Heights Cemetery, Marysville, PA 17053. A luncheon will follow the graveside at the Enola Church of God; where friends, family and all those who were touched by Tom will have an opportunity to share.

The Shalonis Funeral Home and the Sullivan Funeral Home are honored to serve the Ford family.
