Terry M. Shaw, 77, of New Columbia passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at his home.

Born in Phillipsburg on October 21, 1946, he was the son of the late John H. and Thelma M. (Muir) Shaw. He was married to the former Margaret “Peggy” Wertz. Together they celebrated 56 years of marriage.

Terry was a 1964 graduate of Milton High School, a 1968 graduate of Lycoming College and a 1974 graduate of Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science. He served in the US Navy during Vietnam. He owned Shaw Funeral Home in Milton, retiring in 2009.

He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Milton, the Lions Club in Milton, the American Legion Post 71 in Milton and the Buglers Card Club. He loved hunting, fly fishing and spending time at his hunting cabin.

In addition to his wife Peggy, he is survived by three children Thomas Shaw and his wife Stefanie of Milton, Kathryn Preisch and her husband Tim of New Columbia, and David Shaw and his significant other Melissa Erdly of New Columbia, four grandchildren Patrick Shaw and his wife Mariah, Abigail Shaw, Ryan Preisch and his wife Rachel, and Claire Preisch, a great grandson Elliot, a brother John H. Shaw III of Danville, and a sister Holly Douglas of Sunbury.

Friends and relatives will be received on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.at the Shaw Funeral Home 400 N. Front St. Milton. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Stephen G. Shirk officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Milton.
