A. Ross Martin, age 90, of Butler, passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2024. Born April 10, 1933, in Butler, he was the son of the late Albert G. and Marcella Caldwell Martin. A 1951 graduate of Butler High School, Ross worked at a funeral home in Mount Oliver while attending the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science, from which he graduated in 1955. Ross returned to Butler and was employed in funeral service until 1982 when he opened Martin Funeral Home, Inc. With the help and support of his late wife, Eileen Byrne Martin, and his children, Ross worked tirelessly, assisting grieving families until his retirement at the age of 88 in 2021. Ross is survived by three daughters, Catherine, Susan, and Deborah Martin; three sons, Timothy "Pepper", Thomas, and Stephen Martin; and eight grandchildren.

Friends will be received at MARTIN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 429 Center Ave., Butler, on Monday from 1-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10 a.m. from All Saints Parish, St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N.
