United States Army Lt. Col. Robert “Bob” L. Sibert, 89, formerly of Hershey, died Monday, June 24, 2024 in Kadima at Campbelltown, South Londonderry Twp.
Robert is the husband of 66 years to Georgie Borneman Sibert, his children, Donald R. Sibert and wife Lauri, Linda S. Sibert and William A. Sibert and wife Tammy; grandchildren Erin, Amanda and Thomas; two brothers Dave and wife, Joyce and John Sibert; one sister, Ruth Dellinger. Robert was preceded in death by his brother, Ray Sibert.
Robert was a retired Investigator for the United States Department of Defense, retired Lieutenant Colonel for the United States Army, serving in the Vietnam War, 1955 Graduate of Gettysburg College, where he met the love of his life, Georgie and a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Hershey. Robert was active in his community and was a member of Brownstone Lodge 666, F and A M., a 50+ year Veteran of the Boy Scouts of America. He was awarded the Fifty-Year Masonic Service Emblem from the R.W. Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of Pennsylvania and was a member of the Zembo Shriners.
Graveside Services and Burial with Full Military Honors will be held on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at 11:30 am at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery with Rev. Cindy Brommer, Pastor, Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Officiating. Arrangements by Wiedeman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Oberlin. Friends and family should arrive at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery procession lines no later than 11:15 am.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to his church, 212 Cocoa Avenue, Hershey, PA 17033.
